John Kubai founded Tigoni Treatment & Rehab Center with a clear vision: to create a world-class addiction and mental health treatment facility in the heart of Kenya's highlands. With extensive experience in healthcare management and a deep personal commitment to reducing the stigma around addiction and mental illness, John has built Tigoni into a centre of excellence that combines clinical rigour with genuine compassion.
Under John's leadership, Tigoni has developed a multidisciplinary team, evidence-based treatment protocols, and a therapeutic environment that rivals the best rehabilitation facilities on the continent. Dr. Lee Njiru is a qualified psychiatrist with specialist training in addiction psychiatry and dual diagnosis treatment. He leads all psychiatric assessments, medication management, and clinical oversight at Tigoni, ensuring that every client receives a thorough, evidence-based evaluation and a personalised treatment plan that addresses both addiction and any co-occurring mental health conditions.
Dr. Njiru brings a warm, non-judgmental approach to psychiatry that puts clients at ease from the very first consultation. He has particular expertise in managing complex dual diagnosis cases — where addiction and mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, or bipolar disorder co-occur — and in the safe management of withdrawal from alcohol, opioids, and other substances. He conducts regular ward rounds and is available for clinical emergencies at all times.
